Multi-petal flower laser of photonic quantum ring can outperform LED in power consumption and emission
Two dimensional (2D) quantum well (QW) microdisks based upon Lord Rayleighs ‘concave’ whispering gallery modes (WGMs) were intensively developed in early 90s at AT&T Bell Labs. Headed by R. E. Slusher, which was then slowed down due to the 2D light spread problem 1 - 3 .
