A New Method for a Storage Battery and Photovoltaic Generators of the Optimum Size to an Isolated Island

In recent years, installation of distributed generators (DGs) using renewable power sources aiming at reducing the bad effects on the environment is progressing. And the DGs are expected as a new electric power supply system to the independent small-scale system. However, the DGs are difficult to obtain the constant output. Since diesel power generator is used in an isolated island, a power generation unit price of an isolated island is expensive. In addition, the fuel transportation costs added to a power generation unit price. Moreover, under the influence of change of crude oil price, the jump of fuel costs may occur. Installing the DGs to an island is expected to reduce power costs and CO2 emissions. In this paper, we propose a new method for a storage battery and PV of the optimum size to an isolated island. It is shown that we verify the proposed method using example model.
