A Study of Replacement Plan Considering Reliability Improvement in Sub-transmission System

It is considered that electric power companies in Japan need to replace many transmission equipments in consideration of their life time. From these backgrounds, the replacement plan considering reliability is examined with the model system based on the existing system in this study. At first, the smallest EENS (Expected Energy Not Supplied) network configuration is searched under the condition of given demand and equipments availability considering equipment maintenance and replacement. And then, the bottle-neck relations are obtained by calculating minimum required condition to satisfy N-1 criteria when each equipment is in outage condition because of replacement. As the result, the replacement plan with minimum risk is obtained, considering replacement sequence that involves the necessary additional capacity. Furthermore, the plan is made more efficient by calculating effective increment for the system from the viewpoint of EENS.
