Application of Wavelet Packet Analysis in Phase-to-Ground Fault Detection of Distribution Power System
Applying the good property of frequency division of wavelet packet, each line’s phase current faulty component, which appear in the distribution networks occurring a single phase to ground fault, is decomposed to obtain the outputs of different frequency bands in this paper. The feature frequency band of each line, in which the transient healthy phase current is most concentrated, is chosen according to the view of maximum energy. The state of each line will be judged with the ratio of transient current in an adaptive feature band, where the transient current of healthy phase is most centralized. Simulation of PSCAD and analysis of MATLAB proved that this scheme can distinguish faulty feeder from healthy feeder correctly with high sensitiveness.
