Dynamic Simulation Experiment Technique of Huge Multi-Branch Winding Generator

The internal structure complexity of huge multibranch winding generator (HMWG) makes the research on the generator itself and its protection more difficult. Because dynamic simulative system can keep the physical nature of prototype system, HMWG can be effectively researched by dynamic simulative experiment. In the paper a dynamic simulative system mainly constituted by a salient hydrogenerator with multi-branch winding is presented, while the internal and external electrical characteristics of the adopted generator model are basically accordant with those of the prototype generator. Using this model system, the zero sequence transverse differential current, the internal fault protection performance and stator ground fault protection with low frequency voltage injection are studied and tested, and the results are available for reference to the researches on fault analysis, protection principle, protection configuration, protection setting and protection performance testing, as well as it can be used to verify and supplement the results from digital simulation test and prototype test.
