Research on Transformer Backup Distance Protection

摘要：

The effects of transformer and its connection type on distance relay are analyzed when the protection software of line distance relay is ported into transformer relay. To obtain accurate backup protection, four independent zones of distance protection with a mho/quadrilateral characteristic for phase- phase and for phase -ground faults are required, two of which are forward, and the others are reverse. The reverse backup distance relays can only be installed at the star side of transformer, and the positive impedance measurement and phase selector of line distance relay can be used in transformer backup relays. In the end, the configuration and setting calculation of transformer backup distance protection are given.
