Voltage Estimation and Control of Distribution System Using Measured Data from IT Switches
In this paper, the authors propose a real-time distribution system voltage estimation and control scheme using measured data from sectionalizing switches with sensors (IT switches). The proposed scheme is based on a voltage estimation method using measured data from IT switches and a voltage control method of Load Ratio control Transformer (LRT) at a distribution substation. In the voltage estimation method, Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) is applied to estimate all the node voltages with the minimum weighted sum of voltage error and current error at the measurement point. In order to verify the effectiveness of the proposed voltage estimation and control method, the experimental verification is carried out using an advanced distribution system equipment named as ANSWER (Active Network System With Energy Resources) .
