Transmission Characteristic Analysis for Broadband Operation of Push-Pull Transformers
A push-pull transformer is used for compensating the second order distortion generated in devices such as a power amplifier or systems such as an optical fiber transmission line. Due to the rapid increase in communication speed, the operating frequency range of such devices and systems is required to be broadened as wide as possible. In this study, we have investigated the relationship between a push-pull transformer’s transmission characteristics or structure and its compensation effect on the second order distorsion through an electromagnetic simulation with the view of broadening the operating frequency range.
