On Measurement and Analysis of Harmonic Voltage in LV and MV Power System
Since the communication and the digital technology are developed in recent, the electrical insulation tolerance of customer equipments is lower and lower but the disturbance of power system is higher and higher. Especially it is very important to get the present state of harmonic disturbance in power system because this disturbance is the key factor to inspect the harmonic of power system. The harmonic disturbance has the time variant and the system transfer characteristics, So KEPCO measures and analysis the harmonic voltage of 100 points for LV system and 34 points for MV system respectively for one year. The measurement point is selected based on the reference impedance measurement points for LV system; source side of WHM (Watt Hour Meter) and substation buses for MV system. As the result of those measurement data for LV and MV power system we found that zero-sequence harmonics; the 9th and 15th harmonic voltages for LV power system and the 3rd, 9th, 15th and 21st harmonic voltage for MV power system, are higher than IEC 61000-3-6 reference(planning and compatibility) level. From this measurement result and field investigation, we can assume that the LV system harmonics are transferred to the MV system through the neutral wire.
