Effective Operation of Generators based on JEPX Day-Ahead Spot Market Price Forecasting
In Japan, Japan Electric Power Exchange (JEPX) commenced operation from April 1st, 2005. JEPXs main roles were trading surplus electricity and compensating shortage electricity caused by scheduled maintenance of generators. It is necessary to forecast market trend accurately in order to utilize JEPX market effectively. JEPXs day-ahead market price on every 30 minutes product is forecasted by combining the result of time series analysis and multiple linear regression analysis. Next, from the data of JEPXs market trading price and JEPXs market trading volume, the influence of additional sale bid and procurement on market price is analyzed. By utilizing JEPXs day-ahead market price forecast and the influence of additional procurement on market price, effective operation of generators and desirable maintenance scheduling is studied.
