Multi-Area AGC System Performance Improvement Using GA Based Fuzzy Logic Control
A multi area Automatic Generation Control (AGC) system performance improvement using Genetic Algorithm (GA) Based Fuzzy Logic Control (FLC) is developed. It is pointed out that the different action will effect the AGC system from such as the load disturbance with the unit trip. By rearranging the multi area AGC system into integration of the Single Input Single Output (SISO) cascade loops, the simple FLC Decision Table algorithm could be used in the complex AGC system. This Decision Table could be used with GA based looking up algorithm for AGC system performance optimization. The nonlinear element in AGC, such as generator rate constraint (GRC) and saturation, then are easily treated. A Four area AGC system simulation for proposed algorithm compared with PID has shown that the approach is available for engineering application.
