The Optimal Distribution of Load Considering Congestion of a Thermal Power Plant

The optimal distribution of load is an important research area of operation and optimization of a thermal power plant. The reasonable load distribution of each unit of the plant can save the coal and improve the economic performance of the entire thermal power plant under the premise of meeting the load demand and ensuring the system’ security. The former optimization distribution of load pays great attention to the economic research without considering security, and the result of such a load distribution will possibly cause certain transmission line overload and threat the security of the power system. This article considers congestion when distributing load and establishes related models and carries out simulations. The result of the simulations shows that the optimal distribution of the load considering congestion is economical and ensuring the security of the system.
