The Design & Development of User-Defined Model in ADPSS

This paper presents a novel kind of User-Defined modeling method based on Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) for the Electromagnetic Transient Simulator for DC and AC Power System (ETSDAC) in ADPSS. This modeling method can effectively improve the maintainability and expansibility of UD modeling, and at the same time, the efficiency of simulation can meet the demand of ETSDAC. This paper also introduces a type of topological algorithm to form reasonable computing sequence which can find out all Strongly Connected Components (SCC) of the directed graphs and avoid invalid and repeated calculation largely. Finally, based on the above modeling method, this paper presents a User-Defined model simulation example of Thyristor Controlled Serials Compensation (TCSC) in Electro-Magnetic Transients Program (EMTP). Compared with the simulation results of the same model in EMTP, Our method gives the same simulation results, which proves the correctness and effectiveness of our modeling method.
