Improved 3-phase PWM Boost Rectifiers in Unbalanced Network by Fuzzy Controller

Harmonic pollution in power systems is one the mist challenging topics in the field. Power rectifiers are one of the most salient sources of harmonic injection to the source. Therefore, PWM rectifiers have recently drawn the attention of researchers as on alternative to conventional rectifiers. In this regard, boost PWM rectifiers are more popular due to some outstanding features. Unbalance operation of the utility causes unacceptable ripple at the rectifiers output voltage. In this paper, the operation of boost PWM rectifiers is considered. The sequence controller Method to cape with unbalance conditions is investigated. A new fuzzy based controller is proposed to properly change the control signals such that the output voltage ripple is minimized. PSCAD/EMTDC software is linked to MATLAB to simulate the proposed method.
