An Economical and Reliable Low-Voltage PLC System for AMR Based on OFDM

This paper presents a low-voltage PLC system based on OFDM. In the system, efficient and feasible methods are applied to achieve communication reliability at the cost of reducing data rate by using channel coding and sending the iterant sub-carriers or symbols in OFDM system. The result of simulation conducted by the author indicates that these methods can equip the OFDM system with stronger communication ability to overcome the terrible condition in low-voltage power line which is an available communication channel in AMR application. As this system could be easily achieved by using low cost hardware, it is an economical communication scheme to realize AMR on low-voltage power line.
