Search on the Diagnosing Method for the Change of Rotating and Stationary Parts Clearance in Steam Turbine
This paper addresses the diagnosis of change in clearance between the rotating and stationary parts clearance in Steam Turbine. In this paper, the statistics of change in clearance between the rotating and stationary parts of Steam Turbine is done firstly. Then the changing characteristics of pressure ratio of stage groups are analyzed, it is found that the pressure ratio values are not changed with the change of main steam flow rate under the normal state of steam flow path. As the clearances are increased, the pressure ratio will be increased with the same main steam flow rate. Taking account of the influences of the change in steam temperature and auxiliary steam on pressure ratio of stage groups, the diagnosis criterion is given. Diagnosing results in a 300MW steam turbine show the method is effective. The diagnosing method has guided significantly for opening cylinder for overhaul of steam turbine.
