Verification Experiment of Determination Method of Optimal Smoothing Time Constant of Wind Power Generation System with Storage Battery
In this paper, the authors propose an experimental approach to determine the optimal smoothing time constant of wind power generation system with storage battery from viewpoints of conservation in the proper voltage limits of each node voltage. In the proposed approach, by temporally fixing the smoothing time constant gradually increased the feasibility is checked whether each node voltage of distribution network is controlled within the proper range, and the minimum smoothing time constant to be able to maintain each node voltage within the proper range is determined as the optimal smoothing time constant of the wind power generation system with storage battery. Moreover, the utilization ratio, the reduction ratio, and the battery capacity are calculated by the experiment result. In order to check the validity of the proposed approach to obtain the optimal smoothing time constant, the proposed approach is applied to an experimental equipment of scaleddown three-phase distribution network with a wind power generation system with storage battery.
