Responding to Climate Change
This paper deals with the way to respond to climate change by reducing emission in energy production, by enhancing energy efficiency when using energy, by getting relevant data for following internationally accepted procedures and by establishing and implementing a ‘Green’ Culture. The approach to carry out carbon and energy audits will be presented. In carbon audit, the required boundaries setting consideration, the scope types will be identified. Detailed data collection mechanism will also be set up so that a base line can be formulated for future improvements. Various types of emission will be considered and to devise required combating approach. The roles of an engineer in communicating and leading by example are also presented. We believe if all human beings can follow such a ‘Green’ culture approach, we can enjoy the sustainable nature for our future generations.
