Improvement of PSD Door Response Time in Train Manual Operation Mode
In the manual train control(ATS/ATC) mode, in which PSD open/close command signal is not provided, PSD system needs to detect the train doors open/close operation and make PSD open/close command signals to actuate PSD doors. SeoulMetro has used the train door detection system to generate PSD open/close command in the manual train control mode. The PSD open/close commanding process causes the time delay of PSD doors open/close motion in response to the train doors open/close motion. This paper presents the reduction method of the PSD response time to improve the convenience and safety of passengers. To reduce the PSD response time, the arrangement of the train door monitoring sensor and the PSD command generation algorithm are improved. As the result, the PSD response time can be reduced from 0.62~1.66 seconds to 0.56~0.97 seconds and the reduction method has been applied to PSD system at Seoul subway Line 1,3 and 4 since December 28, 2008.
