A Study on the Super-Regenerative Receiver on 2.4GHz in the Moving Block System
Railway signal systems are classified into FBS(Fixed Blocking System) and MBS(Moving Block System). A track on the FBS is isolated electrically by using frequency and transmits information signals to the on-board system of train by using rail when a train enters into blocking area. A transmitter on the MBS is installed on the wayside and a receiver is installed on the onboard system of train. While a train is moving, information signals such as the maximum speed of train and the position of forwarding train are transmitted in real-time to the on-board system of train by using wireless. A frequency which has been used on the MBS is 2.4GHz in Korea. It is a frequency band of the ISM(Industrial Scientific and Medical equipment), WiBro(Wireless Broadband Internet) and RF-CBTC(Radio Frequency-Communication Based Train Control) System. So the interference of signals has occurred seriously. Currently, a train has been stopped precipitately by decreasing the level of receiver installed on-board system of train because of the unreceived information signals which are transmitted by the transmitter on wayside. In this paper, we presented the super-regeneration receiver as the way that increasing the receiving level and the electrical model of super-regeneration receiver on 2.4GHz. Also, we analyzed the electrical model of super-regeneration receiver by numerical analysis and demonstrated that the output voltage is increased twice by using Matlab program.
