Short-Run M&A Performance Research Based on Network Industry: Evidence from Information Technology Sector
Network Industry is becoming a mainstay in the development of the state-owned economy, and the study on its M&A performance is to be an urgent issue needed resolving. Taking information technology industry listed companies occurred in 2001-2007 for example, event research method was utilized to do an empirical research on the short-run M&A performance. The research found that, The study found that: from all of the M&A events, the markets response of the industry was active, and it brought positive earnings, but the response lags behind; the market response to the M & A events of related transactions was indifferent; the markets reaction was different from different product intangible degree in the industry, the higher the degree of the intangibility, the weaker reaction of the market. Finally, suggestions were proposed out according to the conclusions and reality.
