Velocity Control on Machining of Transfer Points in Non-smoothing Trajectory
In order to restrain overshoot caused by non-smoothing trajectory, many methods like NURBUS interpolator and polynomial interpolator have been applied into the machining process of high velocity CNC system. But too much computation is always required in these complex algorithms. In this paper a simple and practical method of velocity control is put forward. Based on linear velocity acceleration and deceleration, the non-smoothing transfer point is predicted. Optimized transition velocity is given by considering velocity limitation conditions and kinematic theory. Smooth transition and continuous trajectory interpolation are realized. Experiments results show that the novel method can not only reduce the damages caused by velocity impact to machine tool, but also improve machining efficiency.
