Comparative Analysis on the Results of the Recreation Value of Dalinor National Natural Reserve Based on the TCM
Valuation of natural resources is of great value for the monitoring,conservation and sustainable utilization of them. Travel cost valuation method (TCM) is one of the most popular methods for the valuation of recreation function. It regards the consumer surplus of recreation commodities as the economic value of the recreation. The method is appropriate to evaluate the value of recreation commodity in some situations such as a low entrance fee,fee free and limited demand for this recreation com modity. The TCM is used in this paper to estimate the value of service of recreation function of Dalinor National Natural Reserve (DNNR) of Chifeng City,Inner Mongo lia Autonomous Region (IMAR) for four years. The re sults vary and can be of some interest to both policy makers and researchers.
