The Enterprise Competitive Advantage based on Principal Component Analysis

From the aspect of resource and capacity in theory of competitive advantage,this paper firstly adopts the principal component analysis method for the quantitive analysis and evaluation of internal sources for competitive advantages of domestic PV manufacturers. It defines three major factors as the principal components to ex plain the competitive advantages,i. e.,enterprise scale, enterprise growth,and efficiency of enterprise resource utilization. After that,it also builds a model of quantitive analysis for overall evaluation on competitive advanta ges. By the scores of principal components and overall e valuation function,this paper ranks the ordering of com petitive advantages for these manufacturers. On this ba sis,it further divides the enterprises into four strategic groups by the cluster analysis on its principal compo nents score. In this way,it analyzes the strategic commonness of competitors to the extent of group,and ac cordingly proposes the enterprise to build mobility barriers from three principal components for the purpose of improving competitive advantage.
