Study of Flame Propagation Model in the Combustion Process of an Oxygen-enriched Combustion Engine
In order to study the flame propagation progress in oxygen-enriched combustion engine, a quasidimensional model of oxygen-enriched combustion engine has been propossed in the paper, and a simplified model of flame propagation, based on the laminar flamelet approach, has been developed too. The model is evaluated against detailed measurements in a two-dimensional laminar propagation flame on a spark-ignition four-stroke motorcycle engine. Experimental investigation was carried out to varidate the model Results show that the quasidimensional model and flame propagation model can simulate oxygen-enriched combustion process in engine well. The cylinder pressure variation with 21% and 24% oxygen concentration was shown, the torque of experimental and simulation was contrasted with 21% and 24% oxygen concentration too, results show that as the oxygen concentration in the intake air is increased, the maximum value of cylinder pressure is increased, and the time that the maximum value of pressure is reached is advanced, the torque of engine can be enhanced in oxygen-enriched combustion engine.
