CHALLENGES TO ENSURE SUSTAINABLE HYDROPOWER DEVELOPMENT

摘要：

IHA is an international non-profit mutual organization with members in more than 80 countries，founded under the auspices of UNESCO.IHA in six years of intensive work has developed Sustainability Guidelines and a Sustainability Assessment Protocol to guide sustainable planning，implementation and operation of hydropower.The IHA Sustainability Guidelines(2004)were developed to promote greater consideration of environmental，social and economic issues in the development of new hydro projects and management and operation of existing hydropower schemes.The IHA Sustainability Assessment Protocol(2006)was developed as a measuring tool to assess social， environmental and economic performance against criteria described in the guidelines.
