ANALYSIS ON THE SEDIMENT-RUNOFF REGULATION OF YELLOW RIVER IN 2008
It has been 12 times since the 1950s for the flood peak at Huayuankou station over 10,000 m3/s, which a great achievement is gained by the people. Since 1982, it has been 28 years for big flood not to come; therefore, the danger of the big flood occurring in the Lower Yellow River is bigger and bigger. In order to lighten the sedimentation in the Lower Yellow River, the sediment-runoff regulation for the first time is carried out in 2002. Before the flood season of 2008, the Yellow Rivers eighth sediment-runoff regulation is operated, which had sent a maximum flow of 4050 m3/s into the sea in LiJin station.
