SEDIMENT SOURCES OF THE YELLOW RIVER

摘要：

The Yellow River is well-known as one of the most heavily sediment-laden rivers in the world.Where the sediment comes from and why the sediment supply is so large，both are the focus of research on erosion and sedimentation in the Yellow River basin.In this paper through analysis of field data at the major gauging stations along the Yellow River，the main sediment source zones are clearly identified.Furthermore，the characteristics of these zones， such as the rate of erosion，the sediment delivery ratio，and the size distribution of the sediment particles are described in this paper.These factors illustrate the sediment sources of the Yellow River more clearly.
