RESEARCH OF GREENHOUSE GASES(N2O,CH4 AND CO2) EMISSION FLUX IN BAIYANGDIAN WETLAND

Aims Greenhouse gases(N2O,CH4 and CO2)play important role in the greenhouse effects.Our objectives were to understand space-time variation of greenhouse gases flux in Baiyangdian wetland and evaluate the greenhouse gases budget to provide data for estimating the influence of wetland ecosystems on greenhouse effects in North China.Methods We analyzed N20,CH4 and C02 emission flux from water and soils in Baiyangdian wetland of China for 13 months from November 2006 to November 2007, using a static chamber-gas chromatograph technique.Conclutions The wetland rich in organic matter and nutrient is the important source of N2O,CH4 and CO2.The field study has shown the great variability of N2O,CH4 and CO2 emission flux from the Baiyangdian wetland during one year observation, and -0.084 ~0.328mg·m-2·h-1, -5.398~328.653mg·m-2·h-1~and.8 14.062~2934.930mg·m-2· h-1 of the N2O,CH4 and CO2 emission flux have been respectively achieved.The N2O,CH4 and CO2 emission flux mostly occurred in summer,and the percentages of total N2O,CH4 and CO2 in this season were 62.09,92.15 and 87.04 respectively.The littoral zone was the core source of N2O and CH4.The annual average flux of N2O and CH4 were 0.1 09mg·m-2·h-1 and 40.86mg·m-2·h-1 respectively.Although most of CO2 comes from the land zone,the percentage of CO2 from littoral zone is also high,and the annual average flux was 692.3 5mg·m-2·h-1.The littoral zone just was 12.6 percent in the total area of Baiyangdian wetland,however,the percentages of total N2O,CH4 and CO2 on this region were 26.51,43.96 and 23.76 respectively.So the result also indicated that the littoral zone is the dominating area for the greenhouse gas emission in the Baiyangdian wetland.
