Commercialising technologies in biomedical and IT specialised Parks
Innovation requires the availability of specialised personnel and good relationships between institutions and specialised clusters of science-based knowledge. In this context it is highly important to count also with instruments such as technology-based incubators, legislative incentives and the availability of risk capital, as well as both public and private R&D system, in national and regional innovation systems. Of particular importance are instruments that promote technology transfer, such as science and technology parks, aimed at improving the relationships between science, technology and the business world. The present paper analyzes a number of different technological services in order to identify common traits that may aid in understanding the processes, strategies, constraints and benefits of their infrastructure and specialised services. The information and methodological bases of the study comprised a SWOT analysis of providers, users, managers, technicians and marketing personnel and provides us with useful conclusions to enrich our experience and growth.
