Supporting Small & Medium Size Companies to Compete in the Global Economy: The Case for Science Park Partnerships
Global competitiveness is essential for the success of technology-based businesses, and science parks provide the best environment to support incoming companies in their early days in a foreign market. Manchester Science Park plays a key role in its citys development of strategic economic partnerships with cities around the world including Wuhan, China and Tucson, USA. These partnerships have the objective of increasing the economic activity between two similar city-regions and, in the UK, of supporting Manchester’s aspiration to become a globally recognised Knowledge Capital and the second economic engine of the UK economy.
