A model of an innovation system with a position regulation of science and technology parks within innovation networks
We study the innovation system of Jena—a city which stands out of the mass of communities in the eastern part of Germany as a technologically and economically successful region. Following a description of the development of the network of innovative actors in this local innovation system, we focus on the specific role of the Technology and Innovation Park Jena in fostering firm foundation and communication between local actors. Based on these discussions, we develop a model of the integrating function of a science and technology park within a system of innovation.
