摘要：

This paper proposes a better understanding of the “STP antagonist, the “STP sceptic & the “STP aficionado while looking into competitive assets & skills of businesses, their vulnerabilities, and the challenges faced by SMEs in the global economy. This exercise will help in identifying key strategic niches—areas of desired STP intrusion—where STPs (standalone or in partnership) can envision playing a critical role towards increasing SMEs competitiveness (directly or indirectly). Some concrete examples of innovative services will be given with the following distinction: (i) Innovation-System services and, (ii) Business-Innovation services.
