A Science Park Design Model

Designing a science park calls for addressing several issues, which requires a detailed and rigorous process. This paper presents a conceptual science park design model comprised of a straightforward input-output-throughput-feedback systems framework, which can be used in design and evaluation of science parks. It is based on the common properties and features of successful science parks in the world. Moreover, the science park which was recently established in Bilkent University, Turkey, was evaluated in the framework of this model, through questionnaires prepared to understand the perceptions and expectations of different stakeholders (academics, students and tenants).
