A Study on the Benefits and Risks of Centralizing Data Management in E-Commerce
Nowadays E-commerce has substantially affected the business world, society and our common life and will continue to be important. It is well-known that Centralizing Data Management is an effective and popular way to deal with organization information. Although centralizing data management has so many benefits for organizations, there are still many risks and problems. In this thesis, we first analyze the development and benefits of this kind of data management. It is necessary for the large organization to enhance this centralized data management in order to strengthen the competition power in the unpredictable market, and to improve the economic performance for enterprise. Centralized variety of data resources could be shared within entire organization very conveniently, it also help the headquarter managers to make great decision at strategy level and centralized data could largely improves management efficiency. In the following section typically risks and problems. They include: 1.humanity risk, especially systems designers and maintainers; 2.inflexible operation, the manager in branch office could loss motivation. 3. Serious disaster on the data center main servers or communication line break down.
