FTA and Communication Device Industry: Evidence on China-ASEAN Free Trade Area

摘要：

With the rapid development of E-business and economic openness of China, it is significantly to research the change of Communication Device Industry brought by FTA, especially in its regional agglomeration level. The agglomeration level of communication device industry can be reflected by its trade structure change. Based on endogenous treatment and differences-in-differences methods, this paper empirically estimates the trade structure effects of Communication Device Industry in China brought by China-ASEAN Free Trade Agreement. The results prove that inter-industry trade is accelerated, which means trade creation is greater the more different the integrating countries relative factor endowments, and this agglomeration trend is beneficial to China because of its huge market and human resources.
