An Empirical Study of Tourism E-commerce Website in China

Tourism is an information-intensive industry and the integration of tourism and e-business greatly improves its development. In china, tourism e-commerce has developed for a long time and a number of tourism website come forth. On the basis of the related research at home and abroad, the paper adopts empirical research methods to investigate 82 online tourism e-commerce companies of China and deeply analyses the business available on their website. The study shows that Chinese online tourism website has some common characteristics on transaction content and transaction mode. Through a case study of Ctrip tourism web, the paper discusses the profit model of Chinese online tourism e-commerce enterprises.
