MECHANISM OF ADJUSTMENT AND CONTROL OF PROPELLANTS COMBUSTION BY PLASMA IN CONDITION OF MODERATE ELECTRIC ENERGY

Mechanisms of electro-thermal chemical propulsion in an effort to adjustment and control of propellants combustion using moderate electrical energy were investigated. Experimental research using closed bomb and small caliber gun was carried out to observe the ignition and burning behaviors for different plasma injection mode, pulsed power level, and propellant type. By the matching design of propellant geometry, propellant charge construction, plasma generator and discharge power shape, chamber pressure broaden was achieved in small, medium and large caliber guns. a method based on the potential equilibrium theory was introduced for the analysis of interior ballistic circle of ETC guns. Some results of experiments and interior ballistic circle analysis are listed in this paper.
