STUDYING TEMPERATURE COMPENSATION AND PERFORMANCE IN SOLID-PROPELLANT ELECTRO-THERMAL CHEMICAL (SPETC) GUN

A centered plasma generator injector has been designed, Its applying the Solid-Propellant Electrothermal Chemical (SPETC) gun. In which SPETC systems injector converts the electric energy stored into a high-temperature plasma jet that penetrates the gun cartridge and igniting the whole propellant instantly. The plasma temperature reached 6000K10000K, electric efficiencies is over 70%.At 15℃ and -40℃ temperature, the firing experimental findings, It is responsible for ballistic improvement of l%-2% in the projectile muzzle velocity when increased aptly electric energy stored, there is experimental evidence that induces initial propellant temperature compensation and performance. Theorize simulations show that the large amount of electric energy should further increase by 10% the muzzle kinetic energy. These results should be soon available for development in SPETC gun.
