INVESTIGATION INTO V-SHAPED BLAST-RESISTANT STRUCTURAL PERFORMANCE AND OPTIMIZATION OF A TRUCK CAB
The V-shaped structure is widely used to blastresistant design for military vehicles. At first, the blast-resistant performance of a V-shaped sandwich panel and an ordinary one consisting of aluminum alloy, aluminum foam core and high strength armor steel is analyzed and compared according to deflection, motion and energy absorption. Results show that the V-shaped structure can offer a higher resistance to blast load than the sandwich plate of the same mass. Then, the V-shaped sandwich panel is optimized by using an adaptive response surface method. In the end, a simplified finite element model of a military truck cab and a 50% rigid dummy for the occupant from VPG3.4 are constructed, and a preliminary scheme of V-shaped deflector attached to the truck frame under the cab is put forward. Dynamic responses of the cab and blast injuries of the occupant subjected to blast loading are computed by using LS_DYNA. It is concluded that the pelvic acceleration of dummy and the floor velocity of the V-shaped scheme are decreased remarkably.
