An Image Processing Pipeline for Mobile Document Capture
We present a document image processing pipeline capable of transforming a photograph of a document into a legible document image which rivals the output from a scanner. The imaging pipeline can be integrated into camera-equipped smart phones as well as web services accessible from a camera phone. By leveraging ubiquitous camera-ready wireless devices as a platform for this technology, we can transform virtually any mobile camera device into a personal document scanner. This technology empowers mobile phone users to create printable digital assets not easily created through traditional means.
