Full Spherical HDR Photography and Its Application in Computer Graphics, the Automotive Industry and Entertainment Markets
The combination of full spherical (omnidirectional) camera technology with High Dynamic Range (HDR) imaging has allowed for new methods in Computer Generated Imagery (CGI). Interpreting a HDR image as the definition of light sources in the sense of image based lighting (IBL) allows to deliver computer generated imagery (CGI) with thereto unprecedented realism. It leads to a radical change in the photography workflow, offers fundamentally new opportunities and has shown to have a profound impact on the automotive-, advertisement-and the movie industry.
