Fingerprint Image Restoration Based on Image Fusion

In this paper we propose an algorithm for image fingerprint restoration based on image fusion. According to the characteristic of multispectral image data cube from imaging spectrometer, a new fingerprint image restoration method which uses the first fundamental form and dyadic wavelet transform of Mallat to extract the largest contrast of a multivalued image is discussed. The multiscale fundamental forms provide a local measure for the contrast of a multispectral image at different scales. The representation allows for a multiscale edge description of multispectral images. Experimental results are used to further demonstrate the superiority of the proposed technique over other techniques in the literature.
