Computer Simulation of Mizing of Toners in EP Processes

For calculating the mixing of toners with augers, a threedimensional continuum model is developed suitable for toner flows. This model requires material properties which are difficult to determine experimentally. For this purpose, discrete element model is used to solve a simpler problem first. By comparing the results of this model with the results of the continuum model, material properties of the toner for continuum model are determined. A summary of the formulations is provided and example of a simple experiment of toner flow inside a rotating drum is presented.
