Relationship between Image Tone Distribution and Printing Press Ink Supply
Image tone distribution directly determines the printing press ink supply. However, it is rather complicate to determine the mathematical relationship between them. This paper introduced a method of determining printing press ink supply by means of colored image. The main techniques involves image locating, ink zone partition, separated image tone distilment, tone compensation, dot value conversion and inking conversion and so on, by means of which printing press ink setup is obtained. This method uncovered the inherent relation between image tone distribution and printing press ink supply theoretically, and proved right by experiment.
