Synthesis and Characterization of UV-sensitive Monomers Containing Chalcone Moieties
Three dichalcone containing derivates have been synthesized and characterized by 1H-NMR, UV-Vis and FT-IR spectra. Upon the 365nm UV light irradiation, the molecules can undergo 2+2 photocycloaddition reation. The photocrosslinking properties were studied both in solution and polymethylmethacrylate(PMMA) film on quartz plate. The photocrosslinking rates of the compounds were depended on the differences of movability and the length of spacer chain between the two chalcone moieties. Irradiated by linearly polarized ultra violet (LPUV), the chalcone derivates films have shown an anisotropic absorption property.
