G7 Methodology in the Application of Offset Printing
G7 is being widely used in a variety of printing including commercial and publication printing, newsprint and even flexo. This new methodology is based on the ISO 12647 Standards of printing. In this paper, G7 commercial specifications were applied to rotary press and the neutral printing density curve (NPDC) of G7 as a target. The increasing ink dot areas were controlled by use of CTP dots compensate. The optimal neutral printing density curves were detected by approximation step by step and the best ink dot areas gain were obtained. The results showed that the perfect printing color reproduction quality could be expected by use of G7 process specifications.
