Nano-print to Plate Technology
Inkjet printing technology is being developed as an alternative to traditional technology for digital imaging. In this paper we report a new method for plate-making by inkjet imaging system. The method is called nanoprint to plate (NTP) technology. The employed nanomaterials for NTP technology include coating material, the aluminum substrate with nano-structure and the jet ink with nano-particles. The technique flow of NTP includes the process of information file transmitting from computer to plate-making machine, and then the machine uses inkjet technology and the jet ink with nano-particles jets on the coated plate. Finally the plate is used as print plate in printer. The image which formed by nanoparticle jet ink on the plate is oleophilic. And the nonimage area is hydrophilic. Through research we have found that the special nano-structure and coating material have improved the wettability and resolution of the plate. And the plate does not need develop process. NTP technology is environmental friendly and low cost. The technology has fine resolution and good print press life. The results are of great significance to plate-making in print.
