A New Spectral Reflection Model with Ink Spreading in Inkjet Hardcopy of Halftone Image

The goal of a hardcopy reproduction system is to be able to reproduce input colors as accurately as possible, and the spectral prediction models are helpful in creating printer characterization profiles for the purpose of color management. in these paper, A new spectral reflection prediction model was proposed that modified the classical Williams-Clapper model by considering the fact of the ink spreading conditions, then we simulated the ink spreading model and drived the reflected spectral model, the new model includes the equation for computing colorant surface coverage from ink surface coverages. And the complex multiple reflectiontransmission process occurring between different layers was described by Markov chain. and we calculated average spectral reflectance under the ink spreading condition; finally, a new spectral reflectance model of halftone images based on the dot gain was established combined with Demichel equation.
