Influence of Pigment on the Property of UV Ink
Pigment is a necessary component of ink. It is one of the main factors affecting the properties of ink. In order to prepare UV ink with good properties by using appropriate pigment, UV flexo ink is chosen as the research object. Through changing the type and content of pigment, ink samples are prepared. The pigment dispersion, viscosity, cure speed, printing density, the stability of ink and the spectral absorption curves of pigment are tested, and the effect of pigment is also analyzed. The experiment results show that in order to get ink samples with good printing density, dispersion, viscosity and stability, the pigment should be well wetted by the pre-polymer. A higher ink cure speed can be obtained by matching the UV absorption curve of pigment with the photoinitiators and UV light source. In addition, the pigment should not be able to promote dark reaction between monomer and pre-polymer, so that the UV inks can have good stability.
